Major Tech Events of 2011
As part of our ongoing series of the year in review, we look at some of the significant events in the tech world that dominated news and public discussions. This space was dominated by all things mobile that has culminated into a battle between Google and Apple, with Microsoft slowly and steadily preparing to enter the fray.
PSN security breach
Keeping in with this year’s trend of the people vs. The Man, as yet undetermined hacker(s) breached the Sony’s PlayStation Network’s security and stole huge amount of data that included account and credit card information of about 70 million accounts. This forced Sony to shutdown their network for nearly a month and face legal action for failing to adequately protect their customer’s information.
