5 Popular Cyberlockers for File-Sharing
As per recent stats comparing pageview and site traffic, torrent-hosting sites like PirateBay and Torrentz are no longer the dominant medium of file-sharing. Torrentfreak recently discovered that centralised file hosting services, called cyberlockers are now more popular than peer to peer file-sharing technologies like BitTorrent. We take a closer look at the popularity of cyberlockers, and try and find out if they're any more different from cloud-hosting services like Dropbox.

4Shared is a free file-sharing service that lets anyone run search queries on every file hosted on it. According to their TOC, copyrighted, illegal and pornographic material is prohibited, but the user is free to upload any kind of media, from pictures to video. The free account offers 10GB storage space, with a 2048 MB size limitation per file.
