The prevailing wisdom seems to suggest that one can never go too wrong with racing games and it is often recommended as a genre to get one’s feet wet in gaming. Unlike most other genres in gaming, racing seldom needs explanation as anyone who has seen a heap of metal on wheels can readily identify with it. Due to its broad appeal, racing games have been around since the early years of the gaming industry and ever since the advent of stiff competition in the business these games have not only seen great progress in technology but have also witnessed the genre branching off into sub-genres.
Released in 2009, this racing game from Codemasters is one of the finest developments in recent years. Although the game features multiple car and race types, Dirt 2 is renowned for its Rally races with its immersive visual, scalable difficulty and tight controls.
