Intel's optical cables for Thunderbolt coming this year
Making an announcement via the IDG News Service, Intel has confirmed that they will begin to roll-out fiber optic cables for Thunderbolt-touting peripherals by the end of this year. While these cables are expected to be significantly more expensive than the currently used copper cabling, they will also allow Thunderbolt-enabled devices to communicate farther, and with much greater speeds. Biodegradable transistors developed at Tel Aviv University
Researchers at Tel Aviv University have developed flexible and biodegradable transistors using blood, milk and mucus proteins. When these proteins are applied to a base material, they self-assemble to create a semi-conducting film on a nano-scale.
