Little Printer makes newspapers out of news feeds

There are several apps like Flipboard that aggregate content, news and updates from your social media channels and subscribed publications into personalized newspaper or magazines. These personalized magazines or newspapers can only be viewed on screen via computer, tablet or smartphone. BERG, a London-based design agency has now taken this idea to physical newspapers. The company has created a web-connected ‘Little Printer’ that enables users to set up subscriptions to a wide range of publications, and then print out miniature newspapers containing content taken from these sources.

 

All you have to do to print out the newspaper is to subscribe to your preferred publications and choose when you’d like the newspaper to be delivered. Little Printer then gathers news and updates from the chosen sources and prepares a miniature personalized newspaper, printed as soon as you press the button. You can get the newspaper delivered multiple times a day, or just 1-2 times a day like your morning or evening newspaper.

Little Printer is controlled by the BERG Cloud and it mainly contains an inkless, thermal printer, which connects wirelessly to a small unit plugged into the user’s broadband router. The company has partnered with Arup, foursquare, Google, the Guardian and Nike to enable users to subscribe to news headlines, monitor their fitness, manage to-do lists, be reminded of birthdays and see where their friends have checked-in at specific times.
