In a move that comes as little surprise, Kodak has officially announced that it will no longer be pursuing the digital camera market. Such a decision was in the making, since the company had filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. The company will phase out all digital camera sales within the first half of this year.

Kodak is also withdrawing from pocket video cameras and digital picture frames businesses; however, it will continue to provide support and honor warranties of products that have, or will be sold before the company foldout completely from these markets. On the other hand, the company will continue its other divisions and services that include retail-based photo kiosk, digital dry lab system, consumer-grade inkjet printer, Kodak app for Facebook, Kodak Gallery, Kodak camera accessories and batteries, and also its traditional film capture and photographic paper business.
