WD introduces network drives of 1TB and 2TB capacities

Storage solution provider Western Digital has introduced a couple of network drives that are designed to be used as central media servers in home networks. To be able to accommodate sizeable amount of high-definition content, these drives by Western Digital (My Book Live) are available in capacities of one and two terabytes.  

Once the drive has latched onto an existing home network, it can stream videos, pictures and videos stored within at 100 MBps using the built-in Gigabit Ethernet adapter. These drives are compatible with computer running Windows XP or Mac OSX and above. Additionally, the content on the hard-drives is said to be compatible with iTunes, Xbox 360 dashboard and PlayStation 3 XMB. My Book Live drives have an added advantage of supporting remote access of content over the internet and ship with three years of warranty.
