Hard-drives from Imation for the sneaky and the paranoid

Imation Corporation has launched the Defender H200 Biometric portable hard-drive with 500 GB capacity and dual-security layer against data access with unpleasant consequences. Access to the data is blocked by password and biometric authentication and the data itself is encrypted using 256-bit AES via a dedicated cryptographic processor. The access authentication systems support up to ten accounts in case there is a need to let in someone else on your secrets.

These drives are distributed in India by Redington and Neoteric at a retail price of Rs. 19,500. The official press release did not mention any special concessions for bankers, corporate honchos or government officials.
