Microsoft unveil the Windows 8 logo

 

Microsoft has unveiled the Windows 8 logo through a blog post by Sam Moreau on The Windows Blog website. In his post, Moreau explains that the flat, minimalistic design of the logo is as much as a throwback to early Windows logo, as much as it is representative of the modern Metro design theme that is central to the upcoming operating system.

The new logo is very similar to the first Windows logo and Moreau recognizes that by writing that the Windows 8 logo is “…less of a re-design” and more of “…bringing Windows back to its roots”. Microsoft designed this logo in collaboration with the renowned Pentagram agency, whose clients from the technology business include Activision, Symantec, Amazon and many more.
