Vodafone launches a MiFi device for the Indian market
Vodafone is rolling out its 3G services across India at present, the company announced its first MiFi device for the country. It is a Huawei manufactured device known as the R201, which connects to Vodafone’s 3G network and enables five other devices to connect via a Wi-Fi hotspot of its creation.

The R201 supports HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and DLNA capabilities. The form factor of the device is quite compact, it weighs just 90g. It also features an OLED display which displays the battery and the network status, it has a microSD card slot and a 1400mAh rechargeable battery which is rated of up to 4 hours of usage. It is priced at Rs. 5,500 and comes with a Vodafone 3G connection, the operator is yet to reveal the tariff plans.
This is not the first time we are seeing such a device in the Indian market, last year we saw a similar device from Olive telecom called the Nexus V-R9.
