Cisco releases Linksys E Series home routers

Cisco has released three new home routers as part of its Linksys E series. The Linksys E1000 is the entry-level, single-band model in the series, with four Ethernet ports. The Linksys E2000 has three built-in antenna and the user can switch between 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band. This router is meant for a local network that has high bandwidth requirement and as such has four Gigabit ports. The Linksys E3000 also has four Gigabit ports, but comes with six internal antennas and it communicates on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands simultaneously. To make media streaming over home networks easier, the E3000 has a built-in media server and a USB port to directly plug in an external hard-drive.

The Linksys E1000 is on sale for Rs. 5, 999; the E2000 is up for grabs at Rs. 7,999 and the E3000 costs a mighty Rs. 10, 900.
