Toshiba AC100: Tegra Android netbook gives 8 hours battery life
You could call this sleek looking MID a smartbook or a netbook, Toshiba’s just outed a striking alternative to Atom based counterparts, with a 1 GHz nVidia Tegra 250 processor running atop Android 2.1, on 512 MB of DDR2 memory. When you put a smartphone OS in a netbook form factor, you’d expect great battery life - the AC100 claims 7 days of standby and 8 hours of battery life, with a startup time of less than a second. It has all the wireless and wired connectivity options you’d expect out of a netbook, and looks a lot like Intel’s razor thin netbook prototype we saw a while ago at Computex. No word on price yet, the AC100 will be launched internationally in August this year.
