Apple's new 27-inch Thunderbolt display for a pretty penny

Apples has release a 27-inch, LED-backlit display based on its very own Thunderbolt technology. This display uses a TFT IPS panel, which gives it a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees and native resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The panel’s contrast ratio is 1000:1 and has a response time of 12ms. It has a built-in (FaceTime HD) webcam, a microphone and a 2.1 configuration speaker system.

There are also whole gamuts of input ports that include 3 USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 800, Gigabit Ethernet and a Kensington security slot. This display also has a Thunderbolt port which can be used to create an array of these displays, with a maximum limit of five. Unsurprisingly, Apple has designed this display to work with their other device like the recently launched new model of Mac mini, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac. While this seems very impressive at least on paper, all this goodness does not come cheap. The Thunderbolt display is currently selling on the Apple Store for Rs. 56,900.
