HP release Envy 17 3D, HP Envy 14 Beats edition and Pavilion dm3

Hewlett-Packard has released two new iterations in its Envy series of aluminium encased laptops. The HP Envy 14 Beats sports a sinister looking red and black colour scheme that extends to red backlight for the keypad. To justify its name, a pair of “Beats” branded headphones is bundled with the laptop. Under the hood, Envy 14 Beats is pretty much the same as its predecessor, the Envy 15 and reportedly carries a price tag of USD 1, 249.

Next release in the series is Envy 17 3D and as the name suggests, the laptop will have a 17” screen with 3D capabilities and a pair of active-shutter 3D glasses. Expected to cost about USD 2, 000, this laptop will be capable of playing 3D Blu-ray discs by using its built-in AMD’s 3D technology.

On the more modest side of technology, the HP’s new Pavilion dm3 is all about more effective cooling and fast processing by way of Intel Core i3 and i5 processors. Keeping the machine cooler is HP’s CoolSense technology which claims to monitor both hardware and software in tandem to keep the mercury levels inside the chassis down. In keeping with its specs, this laptop has a relatively modest price-tag starting with USD 549.
