Coming Soon: Toshiba's superfast charging, world's lightest 13-inch notebook

News and teaser pics of a Toshiba 1kg notebook, the world’s lightest, leaked recently on vozExpress. This laptop has many design firsts, a honeycomb rib chassis, a new CPU cooling system, and offers two optional upgrades: USB 3.0 docking, which doesn’t sound exciting, and a secondary SCIB (Super Charged Ion Battery) that charges to 90% in just 10 minutes.

The specs for this notebook are rumoured to be:

CPU: Intel Core i3, i5 and i7

RAM: 4GB Storage: 500GB hard disk or 512GB SSD

Screen: 13.3-inch, 16:9 aspect ratio,

Connectivity: USB 3.0 The above specs, combined with many new design firsts would put this notebook in the Macbook Air pedigree. If you factor in the cost of a 512 GB SSD, another Toshiba 'world first' that began shipping mid year 2009, you’re looking at something priced higher, if not in the range of a Macbook Air.
