CES 2012: Lenovo IdeaPad U310, U410 Ultrabook

By Faiyaz Shaikh RSS Faiyaz Shaikh posted Jan 10th 2012 at 5:32AM | Filed under: PC & Laptop » Laptop

In the business of personal computers, the year 2012 looks set to be all about Intel’s Ultrabook specification based laptops and Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system. Lenovo has entered the fray with hardware revision to the previously released IdeaPad U300’s, in the form of U310 and U410.

There appears to be little change on the outside, but the real difference lies in the adoption of Intel’s upcoming Ivy Bridge based processors and motherboards with native support for Thunderbolt I/O interface. The 14-inch variant of the IdeadPad Ultrabook (U410) will be made available with an option to add Nvidia GeForce 610M graphics accelerator. In addition, both the 13-inch and 14-inch models will get new colored lids and SD card readers. Since these Ultrabooks will be carrying Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors, they are expected to go retail no sooner than May, with a starting price of $699. Lenovo will release the exact specs of the new IdeaPads closer to its release date.
