Acer Aspire Ethos series debuts with 8943G and 5943G notebooks

Launched at a press conference in Italy today, we can tell you now from its designer looks of it that they won't be cheap. Acer's new notebook line-up comes with a choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU, the Ethos 8943G has an 18-inch 1920x1080 resolution screen, while the 5943G has a 15.6-inch 1366x768 resolution screen. Both the laptops are powered by ATI Mobility Radeon HD5000 graphics. The Ethos 8943G has supports Dolby Home Theater surround sound, and integrates 5 speakers within the laptop's body. You can store up to 1.28 TB of data (2x640GB drives) on it, and choose between a DVD or Blu-ray optical drive. It also has HDMI out, and all the connectivity options you would expect out of a notebook. Storage is up to 1.28TB (combining two 640GB HDDs) and there’s a choice of DVD or Blu-ray optical drives.
