Lenovo’s IdeaCenter All-in-One PC

By Faiyaz Shaikh RSS Faiyaz Shaikh posted Jul 26th 2011 at 8:16AM | Filed under: PC & Laptop » Desktop PC

The concept of All-in-One (AIO) computers may not have quite sunk into the market, but that is not stopping OEMs like Lenovo from releasing new models. It appears that among the proliferation of laptops, ‘Smart’ televisions and media centers, it hard for these devices to find a place. AIO PCs can best be described as space saving desktops with everything crammed into the screen, much like Apple’s iMac. Lenovo markets these devices under the moniker of IdeaCenter desktops and has released two models in India under the ‘Bold’ series. These models are the IdeaCenter B520 IdeaCenter 320, and these machines pack quite a punch.

The lesser of the models, the IdeadCenter B320, has an Intel i5 class of central processor clocked at 2.6GHz, 2 gigabytes of DDR3 memory and a 500GB hard-drive. The screen is a 20-inch LED-backlit LCD which can be used as a television without booting up Windows. The press release making this announcement was a little scant on the configuration details of the A320; however, Lenovo’s American website has a datasheet of specs which you can find here.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre B520 kicks it up a notch with an Intel i7 processor, four gigabytes of memory and two terabyte of storage space. The screen is a larger 23-inch LED-backlit LCD which supports multi-touch and gets its feed from an NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M. Audio is delivered by built-in speakers that are connected to a five channel audio processor from SRS. The Lenovo IdeaCentre B520 is selling for Rs. 71,990 and the B210 is going for Rs. 29,990.
