Samsung launches 23-inch Konect Plus monitor in India with plethora of connectors

A while back, Asus launched the VK226H monitor that came with a host of connectivity options, including HDMI, component and composite ports. At that time, it seemed like a perfect choice for anyone looking to make one monitor into a central screen for all types of activity, from TV viewing to PC usage. Unfortunately, the VK226H received quite bad reviews when it came to performance, so our dream of 'one screen to rule them all' was squashed.

Samsung is now looking to revitalize this plan with the launch of its new 23-inch Konect Plus Multi Function Monitor (MFM). And while we didn't think it was possible, the Samsung P2370MS actually comes with more connectors on the back than the Asus did!

The Konect Plus has ports available for D-sub, DVI-D, HDMI, Component, Composite, Optical Out, Audio In and Headphone Out. So theoretically, you could have your PC, two video game consoles, HDTV, camcorder and a speaker system connected to this one monitor at the same time.

What we liked even more is that all connections can be made laterally and are thus easily accessible; with current monitors usually making you plug in your connector vertically upwards, this is a welcome relief. And since you are going to be connecting so many devices, Samsung has also thrown in an optional remote control, which could really come in handy.

The rest of the specifications of this MFM are the standard fare: a native resolution of FullHD 1080p (1920x1080 pixels), response time of 5ms, 50,000:1 contrast ratio, 170 degrees viewing angle, 2x3W stereo speakers, and tilt functionality.

For a price of Rs. 16,000, the P2370MS is definitely a lot more expensive than a lot of the 24-inch monitors out there which offer HDMI, DVI and D-Sub connectivity. But hey, if you want the 'one screen to rule them all', then it could well be worth it.

Samsung's official product page has all the further details you may need, so check it out.
