Logitech India launches C500 Webcam with video calling app
Webcams are always a huge attraction in India, considering the large number of NRI (non-residential Indians) we all know. Personally, I know of even a grandmother who wouldn't be able to tell you what a desktop is and what a laptop is, but she knows exactly how to place a video call through a few steps.
But those are rare cases. Thankfully, Logitech's new Webcam, the C500, does seek to rectify this to a certain extent. The device comes with the company’s new video-calling application, Logitech Vid. The program is dead simple and serves purely the function of placing a video-call and nothing more.
"Through our research we realized that apart from the hardware, there lies great opportunity in the way people connect using these webcams. Hence we have launched Logitech Vid to make video calling easier for the user.
The Webcam C500 with its excellent features helps you leverage this offering," said Subrotah Biswas, Country Manager, India and South West Asia, Logitech. The Webcam C500 offers more detail and clarity with the precision engineered glass lens. The 1.3-megapixel sensor delivers rich, vibrant images and fluid video and lets you take snapshots at up to 5 megapixels (software enhanced).
Logitech's Right Light technology automatically adjusts the image, so you look your best, even in dim light, while Video Effects allow you to personalize your conversations. The Built-in microphone with Right Sound gives clear, headset-free conversations without annoying background noise.
The gadget sits well on flat surfaces and with the universal clip, can be attach to LCD monitors and ultra-thin notebooks as well. It is mounted on a ball which enables it to swivel 360 degrees around. The camera has a manual lens cover which can be slid over for privacy.
The Logitech Webcam C500 is now available in India for Rs. 2,995.
