Vijay Sales barred from selling iPad 2, WiFi+3G model still out there?

 

So, the good news as we all know is that the Apple iPad 2 is officially available in India, the bad news is that the WiFi+3G iPad 2 models are already sold out. Now, more bad news (especially for Vijay Sales) is that the retailer may get barred from selling the iPad 2 at their stores, because of what seems to be a disappointing stunt they pulled off just a day before Apple announced the launch of the iPad 2.

Just a day before the iPad 2 announcement, Vijay Sales tweeted - “It’s finally here! Thinner, Lighter, Faster…The iPad 2 now available at #VijaySales store near you. Go grab it!!!”. The next day they started apologizing to all their Twitter followers saying that it is still not available and it would be available in stores in a couple of days. The funny thing is that we ran through their tweets and they have managed to delete all tweets about the iPad 2. However, during the launch day all authorized retailers in India including – Croma, iMagine, Reliance Digital, iWorld and others got the iPad 2 while Vijay Sales did not get it.

 

So it is very obvious that Apple has not taken it lightly and Vijay Sales would have got them really furious, as a result they must have barred the retail chain from selling the iPad 2. According to BGR.in, Vijay Sales (Delhi) are promising to get the stock updated by Monday.
