NVIDIA: Tegra 3 Tablets will cost under $300 in six months

Speaking with a bunch of journalists over lunch, NVIDIA’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said that he expects the price of Tegra 3 based tablets to come down to $299 in just "a couple quarters."  The ASUS EeePad Transformer Prime is currently going for about 600 Euros and the EeePad Transformer is going for 440 Euros. So by that account Huang is talking about a price drop of about 50% in the next six months. Not sure if this is meant as a boast about how much ground Tegra3 will cover in six months or of it is a fair warning to early adopters. Thinking about it, the two things are quite mutually exclusive, which makes this statement all the more intriguing.
