Notion Ink moves head office to Bangalore, now hiring

We contacted Rohan Shravan, CEO of Notion Ink for an official response to a recent news story which speculates that RIL is interested in picking up a majority stake in the company. Rohan denied these rumors, explaining that only they have a "synergistic relationship with the company, which includes channel and retail relationships," Both companies have a policy of not commenting on speculation, and according to Medianama, both the ADA Group companies have categorically denied any such plans in the past.

When we contacted the company last month, Notion Ink had already closed its final round of funding, and was planning to launch the Adam tablet in India before the US. The Adam will retain the same specs as mentioned previously in February, there will also be cheaper versions, one with a normal LCD screen and an SoC alternative to the Tegra 250. Rohan briefly mentioned that Notion Ink had evaluated another platform, which was both cheaper and promised good battery efficiency. These, we've been told, would be powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon or Marvell processor. All the versions will be running on the latest version Android. They are also looking at exploring a subsidy model to bring down retail prices for the Adam tablet.

Notion Ink Team moves to Bengaluru (Bangalore)
The Notion Ink team has been based in Hyderabad until now, but will be re-locating their head office to Bangalore this week. The team of 30 will be relocating to an office near Bannerghatta Road. We'll try and get a fix on their coordinates on Google Maps soon. In the coming months, the company will be looking to add around 60 more members to the team, more details will be listed on their site soon.

Adam to have its own App store, possible Android Market integration
In the past months, Notion Ink has been developing an app-store of its own, and is in talks with international publishers who will be launching apps for the Adam tablet. Access to the Android marketplace (which is only available on Android phones and not on tablets currently) may also be possible, and the company has set a timeline between September and January to accomplish the same. Rohan also mentioned that they had applied for a patent for a "new concept in multi-tasking", we are of course very interested in having a first hand-experience of their new UI, it's been a while since we first saw the Adam.
