iPad international launch today, available in some parts of Europe and Asia

As of today, the iPad is also available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK. The 16GB Wi-Fi-only version is priced at 479 Euros (590 USD), and 429 GBP(623 USD), Engadget has a price list, an Italian site has a neatly formatted table with prices for the 3G version as well.

In July, the iPad will be available in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore. Apple will announce availability, pricing and pre-order plans for these nine additional countries at a later date. You can now import it from countries other than the US, the iPad has been available in the grey market in India for a while now. The iPad App store has went global last week: There’s a notification option for Indian buyers in case they want to get an email at launch; Apple has yet to announce details on availability in India, pricing and pre-order plans. In the US, Apple has already sold over one million iPads in 28 days.
