BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 Released; Update adds native email support, Android apps

In what should come as welcome news and relief to PlayBook users, RIM has pushed out the long-awaited OS 2.0 update, which adds native e-mail, an updated virtual keyboard and an updated Bridge app with remote control features for BlackBerry phones. The update was released yesterday, and can be accessed by heading to Settings > Software Updates > Check for Updates.

 

Earlier this year, RIM had slashed the prices of its Playbook from 27,990 at launch to Rs 13,490 for the 16-GB version in India. Flipkart is currently listing the 64 GB version at Rs. 19,999, almost half the price at launch.
