The tech specs of the new Galaxy S Pro revealed?
The Android platform has spawned a nebulous mix of smartphones, tablets, and netbooks... Samsung has a few Galaxies to add to the Android universe - Android Central and their reliable sources have scoped out tech specs and pics of the New Galaxy S Pro.
The Galaxy S was launched in India on 16th June and here is the updated version of the phone. Android Central claims that they got the details for a reliable tipster who has given interesting details of the phone.
The processor is a 1GHz Samsung/intrinsity ARM Cortex A8 with 512 MB RAM, which powers an AMOLED screen at a debated resolution of 480x800 on a thicker and smaller form factor, compared to the Evo4G. The phone might have a ROM of nearly 8.2GB; a rear 5 Mega-pixel camera and a front facing VGA camera.
Now what interested me most in the leaked specs was the existence of extra SIM card slots which Android Central says point to a world phone but I will wait and watch as to how Samsung spins this. The tipster also pointed out towards the plastic feel of the phone cannot comment till we get our hands-on.
The Galaxy S Pro according the pictures has a slide out QWERTY keyboard with soft-keys and it seems it might be comfortable to use.
There are so many questions that arise; It's most likely to be running Android 2.1, when the company roll out a 2.2 Froyo update? How will this affect the iPhone 4G? Will it be released in the upcoming New York event a week later like the report suggests? More importantly is Samsung planning a Galaxy line in India same as the Corby series?
