The best Android phone worth importing?

By Sriram Sharma RSS Sriram Sharma posted May 28th 2010 at 7:15PM | Filed under: Mobile » Smartphone

The Motorola Milestone, running Android 2.1 Eclair is the best high-end Android phone available in India. The best phone to import has to be Google’s very own Nexus One. Android enthusiasts in India have been able to source an unlocked unit from the US since the start of this year.

I saw a friend with a Nexus One running the latest OS, that is by virtue of the firmware not being dependent on the carrier. If you want some Froyo action right now, the Nexus One is your best bet. I'd be very interested in the HTC Desire because it's the Nexus One plus Sense UI, adds FM support, an optical trackpad. One notable feature that it misses out on: Active noise cancellation, which improves voice quality when using the text to speech feature on Android 2.1 phones.  The HTC Desire is slated to get the Android 2.2 Froyo update on the June 23rd.
