Samsung Galaxy S to be launched in 110 countries this month

It�s on our list of upcoming Android phones to watch out for, and is expected to be launched globally in over in over 110 countries this month. According to Korea IT Times, Samsung has tied up with global telecom companies, including Orange in France, Singtel in Singapore, and Deutsche Telecom in Germany. Update: According to a recent press release, the Galaxy S is available across Europe at launch, and will roll out worldwide through a hundred operators later this year. The Samsung Galaxy S has a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen (480�800 pixels resolution) that is augmented by mDNIe (mobile Digital Natural Image engine)� It has an ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera (autofocus, LED flash) with 720p recording at 30fps), with 8/16GB internal storage that is further expandable via microSD. The Galaxy S will be launched with Android 2.1, but will be upgradable to Android 2.2 Froyo (officially confirmed), which will add an extensive set of features and speed improvements elaborated on here. Also notable is the fact that Galaxy S comes built-in with the Swype text input technology. According to Engadget, the Galaxy S will be priced at $775 (Rs. 36,500 approx) The Galaxy S has improved video (MP4,DivX,WMV,H.264,H.263) and audio codec (MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC) format support, and can comes loaded with software to edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint files.
