Samsung in the past few months has launched many Android phones, the latest phone, Epic 4G could very well qualify as a flagship product for Sprint, the second 4G phone available with the telecom giant.

The phone is yet another AMOLED screen 1 GHz phone from Samsung which utilizes a Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application Processor which supports amazing 3-D graphics. The phone is capable of supporting up-to 5 WiFi enabled phones making it a WiFi hot-spot. It has visual voice-mail with a front facing VGA camera for video chat. The phone comes with a 5 Mega-Pixel camera with a power LED flash and 3x digital zoom for HD videos video recording at 720p. The phone will have a Android 2.1 but according to Sprint, "As work on finalizing the software is underway, Sprint expects to launch Android 2.2 for Samsung Epic 4G in the near future."

The phone will be capable of wirelessly sharing stored music, pictures and HD video to other DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) certified home electronics, including HDTVs, monitors, digital cameras, printers and more. Users will be able to displaying footage from phone's camera and camcorder wirelessly  on DLNA certified HDTV or download music from a PC to Samsung Epic 4G and take on the road."
Epic 4G will also have access to Samsung Media Hub, a video store with movies and TV available for purchase or rental, and video content set up for an HD-like entertainment experience on a handset screen. This feature will be the first time a 4G phone has such capabilities.
This is probably the first time an Android based phone is boasting of gaming capabilities and supposedly the phone is made for an optimal gaming experience, with a built-in six-axis sensor. A demo of Asphalt 5 will be preloaded exclusively on Samsung Epic 4G allowing users to take full advantage of the advanced gaming capabilities.
Sprint is giving out 4G developer guide from today at Sprint ADP Web site . The company is hoping that developers will  exploit the  Android 2.1 and use the amazing software and hardware capabilities the phone boasts of. The date and the price of the phone is still unavailable but Sprint users can pre-register for the phone for further updates.
