PlayStation Vita OS may be heading to mobile phones

 

Speaking with AV Watch late last year, Yoshio Matsumoto, who is the Director of Business and Senior Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment stated that the likelihood of PlayStation Vita OS finding itself on a mobile phone is a possibility. He emphasized that the OS was primarily developed to deliver a quality gaming experience and other forms of entertainment. However, he added that the OS running on a cell phone was a consideration from early stages of development and in its current form the OS is scalable enough to be ported to a mobile phone. He added that the system was built from scratch to work with cell phone networks, but the “touch-screen interface elements do not correspond exactly with a smartphone or tablet at the moment.” Sony mobile phones sporting Vita OS seems could be a possibility, but it seems like Sony is in no hurry to get there at the moment.
