Micromax A85 Superfone, officially available for Rs. 19,990

While the Micromax A85 Superfone has been available since a few weeks, the company has finally made it official and it is priced at Rs. 19,990. This smartphone from Micromax has a 3.8-inch display and is powered by a 1GHz NVIDIA dual-core processor. It also features 512MB RAM, 8GB built-in storage (expandable up to 32GB), a 5-megapixel camera and a front-facing VGA camera. However, the smartphone will run Android 2.2 FroYo and it is unclear whether the smartphone will get an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update.
The Micromax A85 is the most affordable dual-core powered smartphone available in India but we are yet to see how the market reacts to this smartphone. The device also includes some unique gesture controls which will allow users to answer/reject calls and scroll through various lists. It is expected to deliver rich gaming experience but we will only talk about it once we get to play with it for some time. The biggest concern about the Micromax Superfone is that it runs an older version of Android. It has strong competition from some new smartphones which have arrived in the market, and it would need to be really good to stand-out from them as its dual-core processor won’t be enough to beat its competitors. Micromax should really work on making the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update available for the device on a later date.
