Spice introduces S-1200 12-megapixel phone for Rs. 15,000!
So far, the only phones we have seen with a 12-megapixel camera were the Samsung W880 and the Sony Ericsson Satio. Both handsets are a bit expensive, though, so when Spice Mobiles launched a 12-megapixel phone for under Rs. 15,000, we sat up and took notice.
The S-1200 is the company's premier camera phone now, sporting a 12.2-megapixel sensor, whose photos can be printed out at poster sizes of 18x24 inches. What's more, it’s among the few cameras with a great zoom option, as the handset boasts of 3X optical zoom and 9x digital zoom.
The device also comes with auto-focus and image stabilization to make sure your pictures are blur-free, and has multiple face detection as well as a smile shutter. The best part, though, is that Spice has managed to include a powerful Xenon Flash so that low-light environments and night-time photographs appear perfectly clear.
All of the pictures you take can be stored on a microSD memory card of up to 32GB. Smartly, the handset also comes with a TV-out port, so that you can hook up your camera-phone to your TV and view the pictures on a large screen directly.
The gadget sports a 2.4-inch screen displaying 256K colours, and comes pre-loaded with World Clock, Alarm, Calculator, Currency Convertor, Calendar, Voice Memo, Caller Group and FM radio with recording. Other features include Bluetooth with A2DP, a battery that boasts of 3 hours of continuous talk-time and a mini-USB port.
The Spice S-1200 retails at Rs. 14,500 and is available in a black colour.
