Samsung launches its cheapest touchscreen phone in India, the Star Nano 3G
Samsung has become quite a popular name when anyone is considering a low-cost touchscreen phone. While the Corby series reigns supreme in the segment, its younger brother – the Star series – is finally getting some love from Samsung with the launch of the new Star Nano 3G.
The phone uses a 2.6-inch resistive touchscreen (256K colours, 240x320 pixels) to display the TouchWiz 2.0 user interface, which comes with its usual laundry list of social networking and Web 2.0 apps: from Facebook and Twitter to Gmail and Youtube, you'll find it all here. All of it is obviously accessible by Edge connectivity, and as the name suggests, the phone will be 3G ready to take advantage of the next-gen technology when it launches in India. However, there is no Wi-fi capability on board here.
Apart from that, there is nothing much to note about the Star Nano 3G (S3370). GSMArena has the full specifications in case you are interested, and all that stands out is the 16GB microSD memory card support. In fact, the horrible camera resolution of 1.3-megapixels sticks out!
Priced at Rs. 7,320, the Star Nano 3G may prove to be a decent option for anyone looking for nothing more than a cheap touchscreen phone with basic social networking and Web capabilities.
