Tokyo Game Show 2010: Day 1 Roundup
As most of you already know, the Tokyo Game Show is one of the largest gaming expos to hit Asia. Taking place every year at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Tokyo, this event sees gamers, journalists and game developers from the world over come together under one roof to enjoy games, cosplay and lots more. So without further adieu let’s take a look at some of the interesting stuff that went down on the first day.
Devil May Got Castrated

One of the most stylish and badass protagonists from the industry, Dante, has now been reduced to an anorexic Gothic shemale in the so called reboot of the Devil may Cry series. The announcement trailer, that made me cry, vomit and angry at the same time showed Dante dispatching some foes off in highly unimaginative ways. The music that played during this trailer was so lame I finally stuck a fork in my ear, bleeding profusely but thankfully oblivious to the bastardization of this awesome franchise. Thank you so much for that Ninja Theory.
Asura’s Wrath Announced

If Dante’s castration has you depressed, Asura’s Wrath will make it for it with an immense amount of anger, testosterone and badassery for years to come. Has Kratos finally met his match as far as anger is concerned? Check out the sweet announcement trailer and gauge for yourself.
ICO and Shadow of the Colossus HD confirmed (finally)
You’ve probably heard rumors about this since the God of War Collection was announced, and now after months of speculation we finally get a confirmation that both ICO and SotC are being given the HD treatment. Both games will ship sometime in 2011 with Move, Trophy and 3D support.
Oh and on that note, The Last Guardian should also be hitting stores sometime in 2011. We’re guessing a few months after the remakes are available.
Ninja Gaiden 3 announced
Ryu Hayabusa is back and this time he’s bring even more pain than usual. At a closed door event, Tecmo Koei announced the next iteration of the Ninja Gaiden series. Details are extremely scarce but they’ve guaranteed a darker and a bloodier game. Considering Ninja Gaiden 2 was an absolute bloodfest, this one should be off the charts.
Shadows of the DAMNED announced

Part Resident Evil 4 and part Gears of War, Shadows of the DAMNED (yes the CAPS is necessary) is the joint effort between Japanese developer Grasshopper Manufacture and EA. It puts players in the boots of a demon hunter who’s sent to a demon world…one a bike…to kill demons. It may not be the most original game on the block but it’s guaranteed to be pretty whacky coming out of the same stable that made No More Heroes and Killer 7.
