Far Cry 3 rumors surface

Far Cry 2 had limitless potential. You had a gorgeous, scalable engine capable of rendering the lush continent of Africa like never before and solid gunplay that lead to some very intense shootouts. Sadly the game was also riddled by shallow and repetitive gameplay, rendering it virtually unplayable after the first few hours. Nearly every mission played out the same way wherein you had to drive around aimlessly for hours dealing with the game's re-spawning enemies that made life painfully annoying.

And now word about a sequel has hit the internet via certain a Swedish online retailer. The box art up on the site looks terribly fake but the only reason this rumor isn’t being completely dismissed is because one of Ubisoft’s scriptwriter’s acknowledged Far Cry 3’s existence a while back, stating that it would retain it’s African setting. While I have no problem with the locale, I hope, and pray that Ubisoft completely axe the open world structure or populate it with significant things to do.

With the Tokyo Game Show around the corner, we could see an official reveal soon.
