GamesCom 2011: PlayStation Vita Trailer Blast
GamesCom 2011 just made the PSVita all the more desirable and just upped the drool value with a host of announcements. All your favourite social apps are coming on board starting with FourSquare, Facebook, Twitter and Skype. You know what you can do with those, but imagine the possibilities for games to be able to actively use all those social features. Not only that, there's a virtual buffet of control features for developers to make some fantastic touch-and-control hybrid games.
The Vita has bought some much needed vida into gaming, just check out these titles.
Little Big Planet
Get creative on the PSVita with a new Little Big Planet, the popular social and creation platformer, which was an instant hit with tonnes of primo content online.
Escape Plan
One of the more unusual titles, Escape Plan is a puzzler much in the vein of Portal, where you have to guide two odd characters Lil and Laarg through a labrinthine series of levels and puzzles. All of the PS Vita controls and touch capabilities will be used to keep you on the edge.
Gravity Rush
Use your PSVita to seize gravity by the ****s and kick some serious butt. An action game featuring a hot heroine and lots of glorious gravity action in a cool comic book style.
Resistance
Another Sony homegrown franchise makes it to the Vita. Resistance has carved a name for itself on the ripe pink flesh of FPSes rather well. Check out the gameplay trailer from GamesCom.
Virtua Tennis 4
Sega's flagship Tennis game stands out on the PS Vita. Featuring some incredible graphics, you can take your tennis along with you.
Wipeout 2048
With every PlayStation console launch, follows a new version of Wipeout. This anti-grav futuristic racer has some rollercoaster-like tracks and sweet graphics. Wipeout 2048 is sort of a prequel, showing you where the antigrav racing all began.
Reality Fighters
Think of it as Mortal Kombat in augmented reality, where you and a friend can stand around in the hot baking Indian summer heat on a road somewhere, looking like idiots while pasting each other in Reality Fighters. Sounds like fun.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
We've seen quite a lot of Uncharted for the PSVita, its control scheme and stellar graphics. Check out the trailer of Nathan Drake's new adventure and see how the game is coming along.
Everybody's Golf
You got Tennis, now you have Golf. Don't let the cartoony graphics fool you. Everybody's Golf is a deep game that fully takes advantage of the new Vita control schemes.
