MSI WindPad 100: a Windows 7 tablet!

While you might be forgiven for thinking that Windows, as we know it on our desktops, is destined to fade away to the onslaught of portable devices, here is a new turn of events: MSI has decided to launch a tablet computer running Windows 7!

The tablet is equipped with an Intel Atom Z530 CPU, running at 1.66GHz, 2GB RAM, 32 GB SSD, WiFi, HDMI and 2 USB ports on board with the dock. The dock with the tablet gives additional features like two USB ports, audio jacks, LAN, VGA, HDMI and the usual DC socket for charging. The tablet features Windows 7 and MSI’s very own ‘Wind Touch’ UI on a 10.1-inch, good-looking multi-touch capacitive display. Personally, a tablet with a dock seems like a desktop with net book capabilities to me. The MSI Windpad 100 will also come in a 3G avatar for $499 USD.
