Version Check: Android phones in India
We have specs and prices of around 26 Android phones as of Oct 2010. HTC Desire, Galaxy S can do Froyo, a majority of Android phones being released in India these days are loaded with 2.1 Eclair, (12/26) including the Samsung Galaxy 3 and 5, Videocon Zeus and Spice MI-300. These are very competitive prices for a smartphone.

Which Android phone would I reccomend? My personal top 5 list:
1) Nexus One/HTC Desire - These phones are pretty much identical, except that the latter improves (debatable) on Google's flagship developer phone with Sense UI, optical trackpad and slightly more RAM..
2) Motorola Milestone - It has good call quality and decent battery life for an Android, the slide-out keyboard saves screen real estate.
3) Galaxy S - 1 GHz Cortex A-8 processor and 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, now with FroYo.
4) Xperia X10 - 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 4-inch screen, with a future upgrade to Android 2.1 from 1.6.
If you're thinking twice about paying close to iPhone prices for an Android, we can understand. At 13,990, the Xperia X8 is a good buy - that's the lowest price for an Android phone with a HVGA screen as of now.
