Micromax Andro - India's Cheapest Android Phone @ Rs. 6,990

With over 30 Android phones in the Indian market, the novelty and appeal of having an Android phone is going to fade really quickly, as it becomes the feature phone OS of choice for dual-SIM players. We're all for championing democracy of design, and welcome the Micromax Andro to the fray.
Micromax has not exactly been secretive about this announcement, with a "coming soon" banner on their Facebook Page. We certainly look forward to the Andro a lot more than their BREW flavoured MODU. Rumours say that the Andro has a 2.8-inch resistive screen, runs Android 2.1, and will be priced at Rs. 9,000. The Andro will be showcased at a blogger's meet in Delhi tomorrow.
Update: The official price of Micromax Andro A60 is 6990 INR! (xe.com conversion - $154) The Andro is priced at Rs. 8,000, that's gotta be the cheapest Android phone to be launched in India. It is. It has a QVGA resolution 2.8-inch resistive screen, Android 2.1, 3G and Wi-Fi support, and a 1280 mAh battery. Fonearena has the specs. Infectech has the pics. We want a review unit.
Micromax has launched a site called Myfirstandroid.com, the site says that the phone will come preloaded with Swype!
