At the press conference in Mumbai, Sony Ericsson's marketing head for India, revealed plans to launch two new phones in the Indian market. Along with Aspen, Yendo and Cedar, Sony Ericsson are also planning to release Aspen and Spiro around the same time.

The Aspen will run on Microsoft's Windows Mobile v6.5.3 and will combine a touch-screen interface with a full qwerty keyboard. This phone will be 3G ready, whenever that elusive technology started to clutter the Indian airwaves. The 2.4" screen is a bit too small with an awkward looking aspect ration and as a result the menus and icons are cluttered on the screen. On the upside, the interface a quick and responsive.

Spiro is expected to be priced lowest among the new phones slated for October release. The prime focus of this phone will be integrated social networking services like Facebook and Twitter; and towards this purpose the phone will support HSPA technology that allows faster transfer rates.
