Saif Ali Khan Wants To Be Like Nathan Drake
Milking a successful franchise has been a tradition as old as the universe itself. Well known studios like EA and Ubisoft have tied up with various successful franchises to churn out mediocre games based on those movies. And since Bollywood is so obsessed with what Hollywood does, we now have Saif Ali Khan, joining forces with Trine Animation and Gaming Studio to develop a game based on his upcoming movie, Agent Vinod (couldn’t he have a cooler name? I mean how can you take someone who calls themselves Agent Vinod seriously?).
Apparently Sangam Gupta, head honcho of Trine pitched the idea of the game to Khan by showing him Uncharted 2, a game that supposedly shares the same theme as the movie – "a secret service agent" looking for lost treasure (I don’t think Gupta got the memo that Nathan Drake was no “secret service agent”).
Anyway, Khan looking at the game got all excited thinking he could be the next Nathan Drake roaming the country in search of treasure, looking for clues while interacting with other characters, including that of Kareena Kapoor's.
The game is being targeted at kids and adults alike and will most probably be released on the PlayStation 2 to coincide with the movie’s release date.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’ll be in a corner right here trying very hard to reserve my cynicism (and other such emotions) till I receive a review copy of the game in my hands.
