If you're buying a high-end Android phone or tablet, an upgrade path to Android ICS 4.0 should rank pretty high on the list in terms of eligibility. We hear that the Galaxy Nexus, the first Android 4.0 smartphone will most likely be made available by next month, and that should be your first choice but not your only choice.

While most OEM's haven't clearly defined an ugprade roadmap for their entire Android line-up, they have made some committments to ensure that their flagship phones don't need to be rooted and hacked to run ICS 4.0. Here are the phones and tablets that have received official confirmation to run Android 4.0 either at launch or as a firmware update sometime next year.
