War in the North is a game by Snowblind studios, based on the story of three heroes that set out to meet Sauron’s threat in the north. This party of three includes a Ranger under the command of Aragon, a dwarf fighter (obviously) and an Elven Loremaster (mage). The three set out to create a diversion for Frodo as he sets out with the Fellowship towards Mordor. Their objective is to challenge and preferably kill one of the Dark Lord’s lieutenants, who is amassing a great force to attack from the north. Continue Reading »

Rocksteady’s Batman is an adaptation of modern-day storyline of the character, which is a cynical take on Gotham City and the Dark Knight’s role in it. This re-imagining of Batman’s world was made famous by the works of Frank Miller and more recently by Nolan’s Batman movie trilogy. In this world, Batman is often portrayed as a troubled character struggling with deep seeded feeling of guilt and an obsession of fighting for a city that has all but given up on itself. In some way, this makes for a more immersive experience, but it is far from what one typically expects from a superhero jaunt. Continue Reading »

Buying a current generation of video game console presents a very limited choice between Sony’s PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. There is also the Nintendo Wii, but it caters to different kind of taste altogether and is not even officially available in India. Between PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, there are a fair bit of proponents who would argue that PS3 is a better choice due to its Blu-ray drive.
