Continuing on last year’s trend, the consumer electronics industry remains focused on tablets, smartphones and laptops. Intel returned to the expo with renewed focus on processors for mobile computing devices and forging significant alliances with the likes of Lenovo and Motorola to take on ARM in the mobile phone sector. A lot of this hardware revolved around Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8 operating system that is being developed for both desktop and mobile computing.
