Cooler Master's cooling pads for the summer
Cooler Master has released a couple of new models of cooling pads that arrive just in time for this summer. It is not so much the impeding heating of the earth that Cooler Master seems to preparing for; rather it may be getting ready for the expected wave of Ultrabooks in the next couple of months. On that note, Cooler Master has released the NotePal U Stand Mini cooler-cum-docking station specifically designed for Ultrabooks with up to 15-inch screen. The stand is fabricated from a single piece of aluminum and sports a pair of 100mm fans, five height adjustments, cable manager, adjustable anti-slip holders, and 3-USB ports.

Intel's Ivy Bridge processors launch today
Intel released its much talked about Ivy Bridge architecture, which promises to be faster and leaner due to the new 22-nanometer fabrication process used by Intel. In the retail market, the processors will continue to carry the moniker of Core i5, and the high-end Core i7. As Intel had earlier announced, the first off the line will be the quad-core powerhouses which will be followed by ULV processors that are mainly designed for Ultrabooks.
Adobe CS6 release date, pricing and pre-order announced
Adobe is ready to refresh its line of Creative Suite applications with new versions releasing across the board. The company has begun taking pre-orders for the upcoming Creative Suite 6, which is currently tracking release in the next 30 days. Adobe Prelude and Adobe Speed Grade has new applications that will become part of Production Premium video editing suite.

Cliplets is a lightweight video editor for Windows on PC, with a very specific purpose. It takes a short, 10 second clip and applies particular types of temporal effects to the frames.
Microsoft outlines new features in Windows 8 Enterprise
After laying out its plans for Windows 8 in the retail sector, Microsoft has detailed new features and improvements that will ship with Windows 8 Enterprise. Features such as Windows To Go, DirectAccess, and enhancements to RemoteFX are aimed at increasing workplace mobility. AppLocker can be used to control files and application access restrictions across users and group, while BranchCache has been introduced to increase Windows Server 2012 efficiency.
Raspberry Pi is now being shipped
After much waiting and some drama with regulatory bodies, Raspberry Pi has begun shipping of its tiny computers. The $35 version of Raspberry Pi has a 700 MHz Broadcom BCM2385 processor, 256MB of RAM, HDMI output, SD card reader, two USB ports and an Ethernet port. The company will soon be shipping another model, which will not include USB and Ethernet ports, for $25.
Microsoft details Windows 8 SKUs
Microsoft has laid out its plans for Windows 8 at retail and at hardware vendor level, and thankfully they are keeping the number of SKUs limited to just three. Windows 8 for x86/64 will have two editions: Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro. These are the versions of Windows 8 that will be seen on store shelves as an upgrade option. The third SKU, Windows 8 RT, will only be available pre-installed on ARM-based devices.

Open-source NVIDIA drivers reaching a stable state
It should come as great news to ardent proponents of open-source ideology that graphics driver for NVIDIA’s range of accelerators is nearly ready for public release. As things stand right now, Linux users have to bite the bullet and install proprietary drivers provided by NVIDIA. The drivers will be released under the original name of the project called Nouveau, which was conceived three years ago. According to an article on Phoronix, Nouveau is on the verge of exiting the staging area and integrating with the Linux kernel.

Intel’s standardization mantra for Ultrabooks
Intel recently finished hosting an Intel Developers Forum in Beijing, and one of the key points of discussion was Intel’s latest project, the Ultrabooks. What started as something as a set of guidelines for OEM to counter the threat of Apple’s slim and sexy laptops, seems to getting a life of its own. According to an article by Liliputing, Intel was suggesting standardization of components manufactured not just for Ultrabooks, but perhaps laptops in general.
ASUS releases Maximus V Series motherboards
It’s barely been a couple of days since Intel confirmed shipping of chipsets compatible with Ivy Bridge architecture, under the names of Z77 Express and Z75 Express. Now, ASUS has introduced its Maximus V Series motherboards built around the Z77 chipset. Called Maximus V GENE, this micro ATX motherboard is released under the Republic of Gamers (ROG) branding, and it’s got compatibility for second and third generations of Intel’s LGA1155 processors. Being available under the ROG branding, this motherboard has a slew of features that power users may find user for.
