The next apparent stage in touch-sensing technology is under development at one of the most unlikely of places, the Disney Research labs. While such technology can have wide applications in the entertainment business, what Disney is developing here seems to go beyond just that. Research carried out under the Touché program has produced a capacitive, touch-sensing technology that can work and react to more information, as compared to existing technology used in consumer electronics.

A YouTube user called danielchasehooper posted his tweak to the swipe-gesture system of iPad, in the hoped of gathering a community around it to petition Apple.

First Mozilla Phone to Launch in Brazil

Mozilla has always kept on eye on the mobile market, striving and eager to make its mark in that space. One such project initiated by Mozilla is called Boot to Gecko (B2G), with an objective to design an operating system for mobile device. B2G is betting it all on HTML 5, essentially developing an operating system that is an HTML 5 browser. This will allow HTML 5 applications to run natively on the system, improving performance by reducing CPU overhead, by cutting down on intermediaries.
