[Review] R.U.S.E.: About triumph of brains over brawn

RUSE is developed by the French studio Eugen Systems who are renowned for their Act of War series on the PC. The studio almost exclusively develops strategy games and it is nice to see that they have tried a very different approach to game-play with RUSE; as opposed to running with typical RTS game mechanics. The game is set during the Second World War and the story follows the exploits of Joseph Sheridan of the US Army. The game spans the across the WWII period— from the time of Axis domination in Europe and Africa, to the fall of Berlin at the end of the war.

[Preview] F1 2010: Hands-on impressions

Codemasters seem to love publishing racing titles and while this may make them appear like a one trick pony at times, their trick is usually pretty good. Next release from the English publisher is F1 2010, which will be their second game in the series after acquiring Formula 1 license in 2008. Publishing the game in the India is quite understandably Zapak, since its parent company owns 50% stake in the Codemasters’ business. So, we were invited by Zapak to try our hands on a preview build of the game.

Aroma D110: a modest phone with a modest price-tag

Aroma Mobiles has released their dual-SIM supporting (Aroma D110) handset in India for Rupees 2, 699. As you can probably guess from the price-tag, the D110 is built with some very basic features. The phone’s display is 2.4” QVGA screen and the keypad is a standard non-QWERTY type. The dual-SIM feature of this phone supports only GSM networks, with data connectivity over GPRS/WAP2.0 for the pre-installed Facebook and MSN Messenger applets and other uses. Multimedia options include audio and video player, a picture viewer and FM radio with recording option.

[Review] Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2: Take to the skies one more time

Ubisoft’s Romanian team has returned to Tom Clancy’s universe for a second consecutive run; following the series’ debut last year. HAWX 2’s main storyline is set in the middle-eastern region and involves British, American and Russian government’s fight against a group of enemies that are vaguely referred to as insurgents in the game. The plot is everyone’s favorite doom’s day scenario, where a couple of nuclear warheads go missing. The three countries mobilize the best in their armed services, in a race against time to recover the warheads before they are detonated over civilian population. The player’s part in this is to provide air-support using the best and the latest in aerial warfare.
