Nvidia rolls-out GeForce 400M series mobile GPU

Nvidia had released five new mid-range GPUs and another two high-end variants. All seven processors are based on Fermi architecture and are fabricated using 40nm process. All GPU in the series share common features like support for Direct X 11, PhysX, CUDA, and also the Optimus technology that seamlessly switches between dedicated and on-board GPU, depending on the task at hand.
The press release making this announcement claims that the 400M series of GPUs will be, on an average, 40% faster than the preceding 3xxM series. In addition, the Optimus technology should also significantly improve laptop’s battery consumption. As for getting your hands on one of these new babies, Nvidia has confirmed that Acer, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, and Toshiba will begin shipping laptops with 400M series.
